Well I can understand that. My spring semester classes began this week. Well, sometimes I hate to think of tiny detail before my work is actually completed but for the story I am working on, i was wondering if you'd like to do some photogrophy. I like to think that i have an eye (I hope that doesn't sound stuck up) and I know they say don't judge a book by its cover, but the cover is the first thing we see right? would you be interested in sorta doing a semi-cover art or something to illustrate the story I write on my free time.
It's about a girl whose father is an Iraq war veteran and former member of the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team. He came back home and a few weeks later, he and her were forced into an alley and robbed. The father was killed trying to protect Molly, my protagonist, and Molly was raped. I deal with her coping with her loss and rape. I add in flashbacks and dream as way of adding to character development. Then it's kinda like Death Wish when she stays with her cousin for a while where she learns to shoot for fun and her cousin gives her a .38 caliber snub nosed revolver as a present. She also gets a pocket knife from a cashier who knew her father and was kind of a friend. It becomes like Taxi Driver when she starts exercising and practicing her aim and she shortens her hair. Then she tries to find out from the detective investigating her father's murder, who the suspects are.
Detective Fisk is my voice of reason in a way. He's a Homicide detective and he sees cases where people die over things like greed and jealousy and fear and it makes him sick, yet he believes in the law and in the system even though it isn't perfect. When Molly starts killing her attackers he should be the one thinking "she should get a medal" but instead he believes that even what she is doing is wrong. But he still looks out for her. He takes her .38 and makes her promise him that she'll continue to get help.
But this is only the fist half of the book. The second gets more suspenseful. Are you intrigued?
My goodness!! I didn't mean to write so much. Sorry
